Estabished in 1917, and operated by the same family since 1926, Mineola-Wisener Field is the oldest privately owned public use airport in Texas. Famous aviators who have visited Wisener Field include Wiley Post, 'Slats' Rogers, Tommy Grace, and Fay Lucille Cox. Famous visitors to Wisener Field have included Senators Phil Graham, Kay Baley Hutcherson and then Senator, later President, Lyndon B. Johnson.Starting with a small grass field and one Curtiss JN4C, Wisener Field now has a 3203 x 40 paved and lighted runway and is proud to be the homebase of over seventy aircraft. We offer 24 hour self-service 100LL avgas, and provide access to A&P, Flight Instructor and Aircraft Rental services.We provide low cost hangar rental rates for all aircraft types- business, personal, antiques, warbirds, homebuilts, ultra-lights and helicopters.
